Those of you out there who still come to read my few and far between posts may recall the 2010 goals I set for myself. With summer underway, I thought it a good time to evaluate my progress and make any necessary adjustments. My list was rather front-loaded, so I should have almost everything crossed off, though I know that’s not the case. So here it is (original list in black; notes in teal):
- Write an action plan for each goal – Jan 15
- Create some sort of schedule or weekly goal-planning method in order to fit in everything I want to do when I’m not at work (fun outings with Braden, quality time with Doug, play dates, time with friends and family, blogging, writing other stuff, reading, studying French, chores, errands, meal planning and preparation, exercise, etc.) – Jan 15 Did this, but the sticking with it has proven to be rather challenging.
- Update budget spreadsheet and USE IT – Jan 15
- Volunteer at Feed My Starving Children – monthly Never found a group of ten (the minimum required) to do this. Would still like to, if anyone is interested.
- Train for Avon walk – ongoing until walk weekend Didn’t quite train as much as I should have.
- Raise $2000 for Avon walk – ongoing until walk weekend Raised $2500.00.
- Finish co-parenting plan – Feb 28 – Ball in ex-husband’s court. Think this project has lost steam in his hands.
- Get Braden in swimming lessons and t-ball (day camp, too?) - Too young for day camp (next year!); tee-ball done; swimming starts in September.
- Clean out garage – March 15
- Turn spare room closet into office area – March 31 Turned the room into an office/sleeping area.
- Garage sale – April 30 Didn’t do this. Tsk Tsk.
- Write Co-Parenting Plan Workbook – April 30 Started, but not complete.
- Finish decorating Braden’s room (pictures framed and hung, tracks assembled and mounted, shelf painted) – April 30 Uhhhh… pictures are framed, tracks are purchased — still a lot of work to do here.
- Write a “business plan” for my writing career (MLI, ezine, co-parenting, book about my dad, children’s books, eventual magazine, etc.) – April 30 Plan for these things has been written; moved on to more challenging Internet start-up business planning.
- Write first children’s book – April 30 Done; waiting on illustrator to do revisions and start shopping to agents.
- Print and frame professional photos – June 30 Frames are purchased, pictures still need to be ordered.
- Schedule an appointment with friends for Seanan – June 30 This turned out to be far too expensive and difficult to schedule. I will schedule a photo shoot for just Braden and me for early fall.
- Decorate Braden’s bathroom – July 15 This did not happen, and won’t likely happen this year. I have been watching my spending and this is not a priority.
- Pay off cc debt – Dec 31 DONE!!!!! (This is my favorite one to cross off the list!!)
Fun stuff I’d like to do:
- Go to U2 concert – Didn’t have tickets for the original show, but now that it was post-poned, there is still hope!
- Go on resort vacation w/ Doug and maybe friends (early xmas present to ourselves?) – fall – Well, this didn’t exactly make the budget, so a visit to my parents in Florida will have to do!
Stay tuned this weekend for my new, adjusted list to finish off the year. (I do this more for me than for you, of course!)

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Especially on that last one! One of my credit cards (the one by stupid Chase) just increased my APR, so it’s out of my purse, never to be used again. Jerks.
.-= April´s last blog ..Just so proud right now =-.
What a great list and you’ve made some good progress, which is awesome!! Love that you paid off debt – that must feel huge. Nicely done!
Thanks, Jolene and April! I hate seeing that I completely missed my “deadline” on so many, but also feel pretty good about the ones I’ve accomplished — especially the debt payoff! And I’ve accomplished a thing or two extra.
