Single Mom Survives

So… for the most part, My Life, Incomplete is a clean, family-friendly blog.  Which is why I must warn you that if you’re offended by foul language and sass, you may not wish to continue reading.  If you’re normal, read on. 

One of the awesome single moms I follow on Twitter, Jamie (@SnglMomSurvives), is now writing for Smartly Chicago.   (I’m in such good company!)  In fact, hers is the launch post, The Myth of Karma.   After reading her Smartly post, I clicked over to her blog, which I sheepishly confess I hadn’t been to in months.  I read her “About” page.  Now, like most women, I enjoy a juicy nugget from time-to-time – mostly if it has to do with people I know personally.  But this is so good that a screen writer for a soap opera couldn’t have made it up.   Here is number six on Jamie’s ten-item get-to-know-her list:

My ex had an affair with a co-worker. I like to call her the [w-word] waffle. I suspected he knocked her up but he wouldn’t admit to it because he filed for divorce without so much as a discussion. I got no answers, nothing. I am super smart (you’ll eventually learn that), have a good gut instinct and was like a dog with a bone so I checked baby registries once a week until SHAZAM, sure enough. A baby registry popped up for her and my then still husband. You’d think that would have been awkward but what was more awkward was that since our daughter was only six months old at the time our registry was still up as well. Now how the [f-word] confusing that must have been for people who wanted to send a gift. I’d like to see what Emily Post has to say about that one. Balls.
